  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Remove the label from the can of sweetened condensed milk. Place the unopened can in a large saucepan.

  2. Fill the pan with enough water to completely cover the can.

  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the water to a simmer.

  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the can simmer for 3 hours, making sure it remains completely submerged in water.

  5. Remove the pan from heat and carefully remove the can from the hot water with tongs. Allow it to cool completely before opening.

  6. Once the can has cooled, carefully open it and transfer the thick and creamy dulce de leche to a serving dish.

  7. Serve the dulce de leche with your favorite desserts, such as ice cream, pancakes, or cakes.
