How To Make Cinnabon Stuffed French Toast Recipe

A decadent breakfast treat filled with cinnamon sugar goodness and topped with cream cheese icing.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of thick bread
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined. Set aside.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.

  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly onto four slices of bread. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the cream cheese mixture. Top with the remaining slices of bread to make four sandwiches.

  4. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt.

  5. Dip the sandwiches in the egg mixture, coating both sides.

  6. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add melted butter.

  7. Add the egg-coated sandwiches to the skillet. Cook until both sides are golden brown and the filling is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  8. Serve immediately with additional butter and maple syrup, if desired.
