How To Make Apple Turnovers

This flaky pastry dessert is filled with sweet apple filling and is perfect for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well.

  3. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the apple mixture and cook for 5-6 minutes until the apples are tender.

  4. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares.

  5. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto each square and fold it diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges with a fork to seal.

  6. Brush the turnovers with beaten egg.

  7. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

  8. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.

  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
