Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

  2. Attach the dough hook to your mixer. Pour in the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix on low speed until the ingredients are combined.

  3. Increase the speed to medium and knead the dough for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  6. Punch down the risen dough to release the air. Turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball.

  7. Place the dough balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them. Cover with the kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

  8. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  9. Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before slicing and using for sandwiches.
