  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, yogurt, eggs, and vanilla extract.

  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. While the bread is baking, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  8. Once the bread is done, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread. Slice and serve.
