How To Make Pizzeria Garlic Knots and Sauce

Bake some garlic knots just like the ones from a pizzeria with this recipe. Pair these tasty snacks with tomato sauce dip seasoned with oregano and basil.

Ingredients

For Garlic Knots:

  • ¼ozdry yeast,1 pkg
  • 1cupwarm water
  • 2½cupsflour
  • 2tbspolive oil
  • 1tspsugar
  • 1tspsalt
  • ¼cupolive oil
  • 3clovesgarlic,minced
  • 1tspdried oregano
  • ½tspred pepper,crushed
  • ¼tspkosher salt

For Pizza Dipping Sauce:

  • 6oztomato paste,1 can
  • 8oztomato sauce,1 can
  • 1tspdried oregano
  • 1tspdried basil
  • ¼tspwhite sugar
  • 2clovesgarlic,minced
  • ½tspsalt
  • ¼tspparsley,fresh minced

Instructions

To make the Dough:

  1. Add the yeast to the warm water.

  2. Add in the flour, olive oil, sugar, and salt. Combine and knead for 1 minute, then let sit for 10 minutes.

  3. Roll the dough out into a 13×6-inch rectangle, then cut into ¾ inch wide strips. Tie each dough strip into a nice loose knot.

  4. Add olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, crushed red pepper, and kosher salt to a small bowl and mix.

  5. Add each knot to the bowl of oil and lightly dredge or spoon oil on top.

  6. Add to a baking sheet that has been lined with foil or sprayed with oil. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes or until browned.

To Make the Dipping Sauce:

  1. Combine the tomato paste, tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, sugar, garlic, salt, and parsley in a small bowl and whisk together.
