How To Make One Hour Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients
For the dough
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 egg
- 2 ¼ tsp. instant yeast
- 3 ½ cups flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ cup butter, softened, for brushing on the dough
For the filling
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 tbsp. ground cinnamon
For the icing
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ¼ cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp. milk, if needed
Instructions
Making the dough

Combine milk and 1 cup butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat until butter is melted but milk is not boiling.

Transfer the milk-butter mixture to a stand mixer bowl. Mix in egg and blend in yeast.

Add flour, salt, and sugar. Mix for 5 minutes on medium speed until a ball of dough forms.

Cover dough and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Making the filling

Add sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.

Whisk together until well combined.
Making the rolls

After the dough is ready, roll it out onto a floured surface until it measures approximately 14x9 inches.
