How To Make Homemade Cornbread

You can make this homemade cornbread in about 35 minutes and it comes out great each time. It’s moist, perfectly sweet, and just the right kind of filling.

  • ½cupbutter,melted
  • ¾cupsugar
  • 2eggs
  • 1cupbuttermilk
  • 1cupcornmeal
  • 1cupall purpose flour
  • ½tspbaking soda
  • ½tspbaking powder
  • ¼tspsalt


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8×8-inch pan and set aside.

  2. In a large mixing bowl whisk together the melted butter and sugar. Add in the eggs and butter milk and stir until combined.

  3. In another large mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking soda, powder, and sat. Add the wet ingredients to the bowl and stir until combined. Batter will be lumpy.

  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared 8×8-inch pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted comes out clean.
