  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, divided
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt


  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and sugar. Stir in the warm water and 2 tbsp of olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

  3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Press the dough out into a rectangle shape, about 1/2 inch thick.

  4. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the dough, then sprinkle with the chopped rosemary and coarse sea salt. Use your fingertips to gently press the toppings into the dough.

  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
