Copycat King’s Hawaiian Bread Rolls Recipe

This copycat King’s Hawaiian bread rolls recipe only takes 25 minutes to bake and taste so much better homemade. These rolls have a light sweetness from the pineapple juice and honey so you can eat them on their own or as a side dish.


How To Make Copycat King’s Hawaiian Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ tsp. dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¾ cup pineapple juice
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 ¾ tsp. salt
  • 3 ½ cups wheat flour
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tbsp. honey

Instructions

  1. In an electric mixer, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk.
  2. Add in the pineapple juice, sugar, oil, egg and salt. Add the wheat flour in last.

  3. On a floured surface, knead the dough. Transfer to a greased baking pan.

  4. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and let it sit for 2 hours.

  5. Divide the dough into 12 pieces.

  6. Set the oven on warm. Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes in the oven.

  7. Once they rise, brush the rolls with egg whites and honey. Serve.
