Garlic bread goes well with a variety of dishes. This cheesy garlic bread recipe makes your day-old French baguette into a delicous side dish.

  • 1French baguettesliced in half, day old
  • ½cupolive oil mayonnaiseor similar
  • ½cupparmesan cheeseshaved
  • 1tbspItalian seasoningor something similar
  • 6clovesfresh garlicchopped and peeled
  • 1tbspcold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil


  1. Preheat the oven to a broil setting at 500 degreees F.

  2. Line two different pieces of aluminum file in a large baking pan.

  3. Cut the baguette in half, then split the halves. Place each half on the two individual pieces of foil.

  4. Mix all the remaining ingredients in a small bowl to form a spread. Spread this on each half of the baguette..

  5. Wrap the baguette in foil halfway, so the top of the bread is exposed to heat.

  6. Place in the oven for about 2 minutes or just until the top cheese is melted and golden-brown.

  7. Cool for approximately 2 minutes before cutting the bread. Serve.
