- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped jalapenos (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.

In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Fold in grated cheese and chopped jalapenos, if desired.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
