How To Make Italian Guacamole

This 5-minute recipe mashes the flavors of Roma tomatoes, jalapeƱos, lime juice, and basil to give an Italian twist to the traditional guacamole.

Ingredients

  • 3ripe avocados,peeled and pitted
  • 2large garlic cloves,peeled and minced
  • 1jalapeƱo,stem and seeds removed, finely chopped
  • 1Roma tomato,cored and finely chopped or 3 tbsp chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • ½cupred onion,finely chopped
  • 1tbspfresh lemon or lime juice
  • ¼cupfresh basil leaves,finely chopped
  • ½tspcoarse sea salt
  • 1pinchcoarse black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mash together all ingredients together with a fork until combined. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.

  2. Serve immediately; or cover the bowl with plastic wrap so that the plastic is touching the entire top layer of the guacamole and refrigerate.
