  • 3cupsred cabbage,thinly sliced
  • ¾cupred bell pepper,diced
  • 2shallots,diced
  • 1fresh ginger,(1-inch piece) peeled and minced
  • 10fresh basil leaves,snipped
  • ¼cupmayonnaise
  • 1lemon,juiced
  • 2tbspolive oil
  • tspwasabi paste
  • freshly ground multi colored peppercorns,to taste
  • ½cuppine nuts,toasted
  • 2tbspsalted sunflower kernels


  1. Combine cabbage, red bell pepper, shallots, ginger, and basil in a large bowl.

  2. Whisk mayonnaise, lemon juice, olive oil, wasabi paste, and ground pepper in another bowl; stir into cabbage mixture. Top with pine nuts and sunflower kernels.
