How To Make Goat Cheese Salad with Balsamic Drizzle

With strawberries and basil, this goat cheese salad has the perfect mix of tart and earthy hints that are complemented with sour balsamic vinegar.

  • 1lbfresh strawberries,diced
  • honey,or maple syrup, to taste, optional
  • 2ozgoat cheese,(about ½ cup), crumbled
  • ¼cupfresh basil,chopped, plus a few small basil leaves for garnish
  • 1tbspextra-virgin olive oil
  • 1tbspthick balsamic vinegar
  • ½tspflaky sea salt,or a scant ¼ tsp fine sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper,to taste


  1. Spread the diced strawberries across a medium serving platter or shallow serving bowl. Toss with optional honey, to taste.

  2. Sprinkle the crumbled goat cheese over the strawberries, followed by the chopped basil.

  3. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top.

  4. Finish off the salad with the salt, a few twists of freshly ground black pepper, and the reserved basil leaves.

  5. Serve and enjoy.
