How To Make Basic Salisbury Steaks

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, chopped parsley, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.

Shape the mixture into 4 oval-shaped patties, about 1 inch thick.

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.

Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a simmer. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth. Slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the simmering broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.

Return the Salisbury steaks to the skillet and spoon the gravy over them. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Serve the Salisbury steaks with the onion gravy on top.
