Ingredients

  • 4 beef fillet steaks
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 shallot, finely diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the beef fillet steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to your preference. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest.

  3. In the same skillet, add the diced shallot and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.

  4. Pour in the red wine and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until the liquid reduces and thickens slightly.

  5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the butter until melted and well combined.

  6. Serve the beef fillet steaks with the red wine sauce poured over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley.
