Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 25 minutes

  • 4 tuna steaks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper.

  2. Place tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes, turning them halfway through.

  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove tuna steaks from marinade, reserving the marinade.

  4. Cook tuna steaks for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

  5. In a small saucepan, simmer the reserved marinade over medium heat until thickened slightly.

  6. Brush the cooked tuna steaks with the thickened marinade and remove from heat.

  7. Drizzle sesame oil and honey over the tuna steaks and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  8. Serve the marinated tuna steaks hot, alongside your desired side dishes.
