Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional)
  • For the beetroot relish:
  • 2 medium beetroots, peeled and grated
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well using your hands until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each portion into a patty.

  3. Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium heat. Cook the turkey patties for about 5-6 minutes per side until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the beetroot relish. In a small saucepan, combine grated beetroot, apple cider vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beetroot is tender and the mixture has thickened.

  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a turkey patty on each bun. Top with a dollop of beetroot relish, lettuce, tomato slices, and cheese (if desired).

  7. Serve the turkey burgers with extra beetroot relish on the side. Enjoy!
