Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  3. Form the chicken mixture into 4 patties and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the burgers are cooked through and browned on the outside.

  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the chips. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the cut potatoes into the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy. Remove the chips from the oil and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate. Season with salt to taste.

  5. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and lemon juice to make a flavorful sauce.

  6. To assemble the burgers, place a cooked chicken patty on the bottom half of each burger bun. Top with a slice of Mozzarella cheese and place them under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Spread the sauce on the top half of the buns. Place the cooked burgers on the bottom buns and top with cherry tomato halves and fresh basil leaves.

  8. Serve the Italian-style chicken burgers with the homemade chips on the side.
