How To Make Drunken Aussie Beef Burgers

The classic Aussie beef burgers get a fun twist, with a beer-infused juicy beef patty, crispy bacon, sweet pineapple, onion rings, fried egg, and cheese!

Ingredients

  • 1lbbeef mince,extra lean
  • 2garlic cloves,crushed
  • 2tbspWorcestershire sauce
  • cupbeer,or lager
  • salt and pepper,to season
  • 4eggs,medium
  • 4bacon pieces,shortcut, fat removed
  • ½onion,thinly sliced
  • 4pineapple slices,canned in natural juice
  • rocket,(arugula), or lettuce
  • 8beetroot slices
  • 4cheese sices,such as fat-free Cheddar
  • 1tomato,sliced, divided
  • 4medium bread rolls,halved
  • tomato sauce
  • mayonnaise,optional

Instructions

  1. Combine the meat together with the garlic, sauce, and beer. Mix well with your hands for about 1 minute until the meat has combined with the other ingredients.

  2. Divide meat mixture into 4 parts and firmly mold them into round patties, about 1-inch thick.

  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet on medium-high heat. Sear the hamburgers on both sides until golden and cooked to your liking.

  4. While the burgers are frying, fry the onion and bacon in a separate pan until the onion is transparent and fragrant, and the bacon is crispy on both sides.

  5. Transfer the bacon and onion onto a paper towel. Wipe the pan over, and add a drizzle of oil. Fry the eggs until cooked to your liking.

  6. When the burger patties are done, transfer them onto a warmed plate. Wipe the pan over with a paper towel, and fry the pineapple rings for about 1 minute on each side until caramelized.

To Assemble:

  1. Layer the base of each bun with the lettuce or arugula, beetroot slices, burger patties, cheese, pineapple rings, bacon, onion rings, tomato slices, and the fried egg.

  2. Drizzle with tomato sauce and mayonnaise. Top with remaining bun piece and serve!
