How To Make Herbed Turkey Burger

To keep this turkey burger deliciously moist, thigh and leg meat are used, as well as olive oil. Then parsley, rosemary, sage, and thyme make it tasty.

  • 2tbspextra virgin olive oil
  • ½medium red onion,minced
  • 4garlic cloves,minced
  • 2lbsground turkey meat,(preferably from the legs and thighs)
  • ½tspsalt
  • 1tspblack pepper
  • ½cupparsley,loosely packed, chopped
  • 1tbspfresh rosemary,minced
  • 1tbspfresh sage,minced
  • 2tspfresh thyme,chopped

For Serving and Toppings:

  • burger buns
  • sliced onions
  • lettuce
  • sliced tomatoes
  • bacon
  • mayonnaise
  • mustard
  • relish
  • ketchup


  1. Sauté the chopped onion in olive oil for 3 minutes over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for another 2 minutes, or until the garlic begins to brown.

  2. Remove from heat. Transfer the onions, garlic, and oil to a large bowl to cool down.

  3. Once the onions are cool to the touch, add the ground turkey, salt, pepper, and herbs into the bowl. Using hands, gently mix everything until well combined.

  4. Form the meat into patties. Use fingers to form a slight indentation in the middle of the patties.

  5. Cook on a hot grill or in a hot cast iron frying pan for 5 to 6 minutes per side, until cooked through

  6. Toast the buns and serve the burgers with accompaniments of choice—sliced onions, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, bacon, mayonnaise, mustard, relish, and/or ketchup.
