Your favorite flavors from Carl’s Jr’s western bacon cheeseburger in sloppy joes. The smoky barbecue sauce adds so much flavor to the ground meat.

  • 6slicesbacon
  • lbslean ground beef
  • 1yellow onion,diced
  • ½tspkosher salt
  • ¼tspcoarse ground black pepper
  • 1cupbeef broth
  • ¾cupKC Masterpiece Hickory Flavored BBQ Sauce
  • ¼cupketchup
  • 1tbspworcestershire sauce
  • 4hamburger buns,sesame seed
  • 4slicesAmerican Cheese


  1. In a large skillet add the bacon and cook until crispy, but still chewy.

  2. Remove from the pan and let cool for 1 minute before chopping finely.

  3. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease.

  4. Add the beef and onions, cooking well for 5 to 6 minutes until seared, breaking it apart but leaving some chunks.

  5. Add in the beef broth, ketchup, bbq sauce, and Worcestershire sauce

  6. Cook for about 5 to 6 minutes until the sauce starts to evaporate and the mixture becomes “sloppy”.
