  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp onion chopped
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 14 ½ oz tomatoes undrained
  • 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp onion salt
  • 10 slices Velveeta cheese divided
  • 4 hamburger buns split and toasted


  1. In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  2. Sprinkle with flour; stir until blended.
  3. Stir in the tomatoes, oregano, salt and onion salt.
  4. Cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  5. Add 6 cheese slices; cook and stir until cheese is melted and blended.
  6. Place hamburger buns cut side up on an ungreased baking sheet; toast buns, then spoon about ¼ cup meat mixture onto each bun half.

  7. Cut remaining cheese slices in half diagonally; place over meat mixture.
  8. Broil 6-8 inches from the heat for 4 minutes or until cheese is melted.
