Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices for topping
  • Tzatziki sauce:
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup cucumber, grated and squeezed to remove excess moisture
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, red onion, garlic, mint, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Form into 4 patties.

  2. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the lamb burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.

  3. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

  4. Toast the burger buns if desired.

  5. Serve the lamb burgers on the toasted buns, topped with tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices.
