Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill.

  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.

  3. Brush the mushroom slices with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.

  5. Meanwhile, heat a skillet over medium heat and sauté the mushroom slices until tender.

  6. When the burgers are almost done, top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese and allow it to melt.

  7. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute or two.

  8. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the buns, then topping with sautéed mushrooms and any additional toppings desired.
