  • 1 cup beer
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato slices, and tartar sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off, then carefully place it into the hot oil.

  5. Fry the fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Remove the fish from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. Toast the burger buns lightly and spread tartar sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
