Tasty Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

This recipe makes a quick and tasty spaghetti sauce. I make it for my family all the time, and they love it.  Spoon sauce generously over spaghetti noodles. Best served with generous portions of garlic toast.

How To Make Tasty Spaghetti Sauce

  • 1 lb extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 28 oz tomatoes (diced)
  • 4 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1 tsp bay leaf (crushed )
  1. Place ground beef in a non-stick wok, or large deep skillet.

  2. Cook over medium heat until evenly brown. Drain excess fat. Add onion, and cook until soft and translucent.

  3. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in garlic, tomato paste, tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Season with thyme, basil, rosemary, marjoram and bay leaf.

  4. Cover, and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes.
