Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) of black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of diced red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and diced
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until slightly chunky.

  2. Stir in the diced tomatoes, red onion, garlic, jalapeno, cilantro, lime juice, cumin, salt, and pepper.

  3. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  4. Serve the smashed bean dip with tortilla chips.
