  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if desired).

  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the seasoning mixture. Toast the spices for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Add 1 pound of ground beef or turkey to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until browned and cooked through.

  4. Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and stir to combine the seasoning with the meat. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  5. Remove from heat and your restaurant-style taco meat seasoning is ready to use!
