How To Make Quick and Easy Marinara Sauce

This marinara sauce is the perfect accompaniment to your favorite Italian meals. Tomatoes are cooked with onion and garlic and seasoned with herbs.

  • ¼cupolive oil
  • ½yellow onion,diced
  • 3clovesgarlic,minced
  • 28oztomatoes,crushed
  • 6oztomato paste
  • 2tsporegano,dried
  • 2tspbasil,dried
  • 1tspkosher salt
  • 1tspsugar
  • ¼tspred pepper,crushed
  • ½cupchicken broth,or water


  1. Add the olive oil and onion to the pan and sauté on medium low until very lightly browned.

  2. Add the garlic and let cook for 15 seconds or so until the garlic starts to release its aroma.

  3. Add in the rest of the ingredients and simmer, covered, on low for 30 minutes.
