  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. Push the onions to one side of the skillet and add the beef slices. Cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  3. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and beef, stirring well to coat. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  4. Gradually stir in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or roasted meats.
