  • 1scallion
  • 1clovegarlic
  • ½tspfresh ginger,finely grated, peeled
  • 1tbspsugar
  • salt
  • ½cuphot pepper jelly
  • tbspwhite vinegar,distilled


  1. On a work surface, using the side of a large knife, mash the scallion, garlic and ginger with the sugar and ½ teaspoon of salt until a coarse paste forms.

  2. Transfer the paste to a small saucepan.

  3. Stir in the hot pepper jelly and vinegar and bring to a boil.

  4. Transfer to a glass jar and let cool.
