It’s no secret that I consider hummus to be one of the major food groups. I make it weekly.

How To Make Quick and Easy Hummus

This Quick and Easy Hummus is a wonderful dip for your chips, crackers, and even pita bread. Savor the roasted garlic, nuttiness of the tahini plus the creaminess of the pureed chickpeas. A truly delightful dip to have on hand!

Ingredients

  • 15 oz chickpeas
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 1 lemon juice, fresh squeezed
  • cup water
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • sea salt, to taste
  • 3 garlic cloves , roasted

Instructions

Roasted Garlic:

  1. Preheat the oven at 325 degrees F.

  2. Chop the end of a whole garlic bulb and wrap the head with tin foil.

  3. Pour a little olive oil on top.

  4. Roast it in the oven for 30 minutes.

  5. Take it out and let if cool.

Hummus:

  1. In a bowl, stir the tahini.

  2. Rinse and drain the chickpeas and dump it into a food processor.

  3. Add salt to taste.

  4. Squeeze the lemon in the food processor.

  5. Add the water, tahini, and roasted garlic.

  6. Puree until smooth. If it looks too thick, add a tablespoon of water to reach the desired consistency.

  7. Serve this quick and easy Hummus with fresh veggies, crackers or chips!
