How To Make Garlic Scape Basil Pesto

Make a tasty garlic scape basil pesto sauce great for pasta dishes, stuffed chicken, or as a veggie dip. It’s also mixed with fresh basil leaves and cheese!

  • ½cupgarlic scapes,flowers and tough ends removed
  • ½cupfresh basil leaves
  • ½cupParmigiano Reggiano cheese,grated
  • cupextra virgin olive oil
  • kosher salt and fresh pepper,to taste


  1. Cut the garlic scapes into small pieces.

  2. In a food processor or mini blender, pulse scapes, basil, parmigiano, salt, and pepper until smooth.

  3. Slowly add the olive oil while pulsing.

  4. Use in pasta, stuffed chicken, or as a dip. Enjoy!
