How To Make Easy Marinara Sauce

Our fast and easy marinara sauce works on just about any pasta or pizza dish! It’s loaded with seasoned tomatoes and carrots for a richer sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 3tbspolive oil
  • 1cuponion,finely diced
  • cupcarrot,shredded
  • 3garlic clove,minced
  • ¼cupfresh basil,chopped
  • ½tsporegano,dried
  • salt and pepper
  • 28ozwhole tomatoes,canned
  • 28ozcrushed tomatoes,canned
  • 2tbsptomato paste
  • 2tspsugar,optional
  • ½cupwater

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. Add the onion, carrot, and garlic.

  3. Cook for 5 minutes until soft.

  4. Add the whole tomatoes with its juice, then gently break then apart with a spoon.

  5. Stir in the basil, oregano, salt, pepper, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, and water.

  6. Simmer uncovered on low heat for 20 minutes or until the sauce reaches desired consistency.

  7. Serve over spaghetti, and enjoy!
