You need not fuss around on how to make homemade cranberry sauce. Our simple cranberry sauce recipe makes it easy to do in just 15 minutes. For the best taste, use fresh cranberries and plenty of cinnamon.

This tart-sweet cranberry sauce is also laced with the warm spice of cinnamon for a tastier sauce best for meats or even on toasts.

Total: 25 mins

  • 12 oz cranberries, whole, washed and picked over, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cranberry juice, or water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, whole

  1. Mix sugar and water or cranberry juice in a saucepan over low heat. Mix gradually to dissolve sugar then add the cinnamon sticks.
  2. Add the cranberries and bring the mixture to a boil then reduce heat to simmer.
  3. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries begin to pop.
  4. Remove from heat and cool completely at room temperature then refrigerate. This makes about 4½ cups. Best with your roasted turkey and stuffing!
