How To Make Creamy Tomato-Basil Sauce

Mascarpone adds a sweet creaminess to this tomato-basil sauce that brims with a hint of garlic flavor. Whip up a rich batch in just under 30 minutes!

  • 2tbspextra virgin olive oil
  • 1garlic clove
  • 1cupgrape tomatoes
  • ¾cupmascarpone
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1tspsherry vinegar
  • 2tbspbasil leaves,finely shredded


  1. Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet. Add the garlic and tomatoes and cook over high heat for about 5 minutes, stirring, until the tomatoes are softened.

  2. Add the mascarpone and cook over moderately high heat, stirring, until piping hot. Season the sauce with salt and ½ teaspoon of pepper, stir in the vinegar and basil.

  3. Serve with pasta or risotto, broiled chicken, polenta, veal cutlets, or roasted vegetables, and enjoy!
