How To Make Creamy Muhammara

This Middle Eastern muhammara dip is loaded with roasted red peppers and walnuts. Whip up a deliciously savory dip like this in just under 30 minutes.

  • 3red bell peppers,roasted, seeded, cored and peeled, or 1½ cups jarred roasted peppers
  • ½cupwalnuts,toasted, coarsely chopped
  • ¼cupbreadcrumbs
  • 1garlic clove,minced
  • 1tbsplemon juice
  • 2tsppomegranate molasses
  • 1tspcumin
  • ½tspred pepper flakes,optional
  • ¼cupolive oil
  • salt and pepper,to taste
  • olive oil,chopped walnuts, chopped parsley, optional garnishes


  1. Place the roasted peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, garlic, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, cumin and red pepper flakes in the bowl of a food processor.

  2. Process until combined.

  3. With the motor running, gradually add the oil until the mixture is smooth.

  4. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  5. Top with a drizzle of olive oil, walnuts and parsley.

  6. Serve with pita chips, and enjoy!
