Cranberry Orange Sauce Recipe

How To Make Cranberry Orange Sauce

This delectable orange sauce works brilliantly on both savory and sweet dishes! It’s also mixed with fresh cranberries for added fruitiness.

Preparation: 3 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 13 minutes



  • ¾cupgranulated sugar
  • 1cuporange juicefreshly squeezed recommended
  • 12ozfresh cranberriesor frozen
  • 2tsporange zestplus more for garnish
  • pinchsalt


  1. Place the sugar and orange juice in a medium pan over medium high heat.

  2. Bring to a simmer.

  3. Add the cranberries, orange zest and salt.

  4. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cranberries have burst.

  5. Let the cranberry orange sauce sit at room temperature until cool.

  6. Serve on desserts or main dishes, and enjoy!

Recipe Notes


If you prefer a chunkier sauce, add ¾ of the berries, then after the cranberries have burst, stir the remaining ¼ berries in.
