  • cuplime juice
  • ¼cupwater
  • 1tspsugar
  • tspkosher salt
  • ¼tspground cumin
  • 2garlic cloves,minced
  • tspsmoked paprika
  • 1tsponion powder
  • 2tbspchili powder,*
  • ¼tsppepper


  1. Place the olive oil, lime juice, water, sugar, kosher salt, cumin, garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, chili powder, and pepper in a bowl. Stir to combine.

  2. Marinate over chicken for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours.

Recipe Notes

  • *Depending on the heat level of the chili powder, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of chili powder. If using mild chili powder, do the full 2 tablespoons.
  • This marinate works for 1 pound of sliced chicken.
