How To Make Buffalo Hummus

Try a hotter take on your usual hummus by whipping up our buffalo hummus recipe! It has a bit of spicy kick, and takes only 10 minutes to make.

  • 30ozchickpeas,2 cans, drained and rinsed
  • 5garlic cloves,peeled
  • ¼cupwater,or 2 tbsp water + 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼cuptahini
  • ¼cupblue cheese,crumbled, optional
  • 8tbsphot sauce,to taste
  • 2tbsplemon juice,freshly-squeezed
  • tspsmoked paprika
  • 1tspground cumin
  • ½tspsalt
  • ¼tspfreshly-ground black pepper
  • olive oil,chopped roasted red peppers, thinly-sliced green onions, extra crumbled blue cheese, optional toppings


  1. Add the chickpeas, garlic, water, tahini, blue cheese, hot sauce, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to a food processor or blender.

  2. Pulse until combined. Add more hot sauce to taste, if desired.

  3. Serve with desired dippers, garnished with olive oil and other toppings, and enjoy!
