Smoked Kielbasa and White Bean Soup Recipe

How To Make Smoked Kielbasa and White Bean Soup

Delightful and wholesome soup made of kielbasa sausages and white beans

  • 3 cups smoked kielbasa sausage (sliced)
  • 3 cans white northern beans ((45 oz), drained and rinsed )
  • 2 cans low sodium chicken stock ((28 oz))
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup yellow onion (small diced)
  • 1 cup celery (small diced)
  • ¾ cup carrots (small diced)
  • 1 tbsp jalapeño pepper (deseeded and minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp corn meal
  • salt
  • pepper (to taste)
  1. In a heavy duty pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil and butter until the butter is melted.
  2. Next, add onion, carrot, and celery.
  3. Cook the vegetables in the oil for 3-5 minutes or until the onions are translucent.
  4. Then add the jalapeño, corn meal and garlic.
  5. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Finally, add the chicken stock, white beans and sausage.
  7. Simmer on medium low heat for 30-35 minutes until the beans are tender and the sausage is heated through
