Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 8 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, shrimp, onion, garlic, water chestnuts, green onions, cilantro, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. Place a small amount of the filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges with water and fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.

  3. In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a boil. Drop wontons into the broth and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through.

  4. Serve hot and garnish with green onions and cilantro.
