
How To Make Ham and Corn Chowder
This corn chowder is loaded with bits of ham, potatoes, and carrots in a rich creamy broth. It’s the perfect hearty and comforting soup.

Ingredients
- 2tbspbutter
- 1onion,chopped
- ½cupcarrots,peeled, halved and sliced
- 3tbspflour
- 2½cupsham,diced
- 3½cupschicken broth
- 1½cupsfrozen corn
- 2tspfresh thyme leaves
- 2smallrusset potatoes,peeled and cut into cubes
- 1cupheavy cream
- 4slicesbacon,cooked and crumbled
- Salt and pepper,to taste
Instructions

Heat the butter in a large pot over medium high heat. Add the onions and carrot and cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until just softened.

Whisk in the flour, stirring constantly. Cook for 1 minute.

Slowly add the chicken broth, whisking constantly. Bring to a simmer. Add the ham, corn, thyme and potatoes.

Simmer for 25 minutes or until potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally. Add the heavy cream and bacon. Cook for 5 more minutes. Serve.
