  • 1 small pumpkin, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: pumpkin seeds, cream, fresh herbs


  1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.

  2. Add the diced pumpkin to the pot and cook for about 5 minutes, until slightly softened.

  3. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, until the pumpkin is tender.

  4. Using an immersion blender or a countertop blender, puree the soup until smooth. Be careful when blending hot liquids.

  5. Return the soup to the pot and stir in the heavy cream and ground cinnamon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to come together.
