How To Make 5-Ingredient Black Bean Soup

This black bean soup is so easy to make and even easier to consume. You only need black beans, salsa, cilantro, cumin, and garlic.

  • 45ozblack beans,with liquid
  • 1lbgood-quality salsa,about 2½ cups, homemade or store-bought
  • ½cupfresh cilantro,chopped and loosely packed, plus extra for garnish
  • 2tspground cumin
  • 1clovegarlic,minced


  1. Stir all ingredients together in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat until simmering. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for at least 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Serve soup warm topped with additional fresh cilantro as garnish.
