How To Make Real Texas Chili Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup beef broth
- Optional toppings: shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions
Instructions

In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.

Add the onion, garlic, green bell pepper, and jalapeno peppers. Cook until vegetables are softened.

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.

Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
