
How To Make Spiced Red Wine Punch
Made with a splash of orange juice and spiced syrup, this red wine punch is a sweet and refreshing beverage perfect for a party!

Ingredients
- 2cupswater
- 1cupsugar
- 2cinnamon sticks
- 12cloves
- 12allspice berries
- ½tspfenugreek seeds
- 4fresh ginger,¼-inch thick slices
- 1orange zest
- ½cupfresh orange juice
- 750mlSyrah,(1 bottle) or other full bodied red wine
- orange slices
Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the water with the sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, fenugreek seeds, crushed ginger, and orange zest.

Bring to a boil over moderate heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Lower the heat and simmer the syrup for 5 minutes.

Remove from the heat and let the syrup steep for 25 minutes.

Add the orange juice, then strain the syrup into a medium bowl.

Wipe out the saucepan, add the red wine and spiced syrup, and heat until simmering.

Carefully pour the spiced wine into heatproof glasses, garnish the glasses with orange slices and serve the punch warm.

If making ahead, the spiced red wine punch can be refrigerated overnight. Reheat gently before serving.
