How To Make Vanilla & Poppy Seed Swirl Cake

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

Gradually add in the flour, alternating with the milk, until a smooth batter forms.

Divide the batter in half. In one half, mix in the poppy seeds until well combined.

Pour half of the vanilla batter into the prepared cake pan, followed by the poppy seed batter. Swirl the two batters together using a knife or skewer.

Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
